RECIPE FOR PULLED PORK COOKED IN NINJA MULTI COOKER
Here’s a simple pulled pork recipe you can try with your Ninja Multi-Cooker:
Ingredients:
- 3-4 lb pork shoulder or pork butt (bone-in or boneless)
- 1 onion, roughly chopped
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup BBQ sauce (your favourite)
- 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
- 1/4 cup chicken broth or water
- 1 tbsp brown sugar
- 1 tsp smoked paprika
- 1 tsp ground cumin
- 1/2 tsp chili powder
- 1/2 tsp ground black pepper
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper (optional, for some heat)
Instructions:
- Season the Pork: In a small bowl, mix together the paprika, cumin, chili powder, black pepper, salt, cayenne, and brown sugar. Rub this seasoning mixture all over the pork shoulder.
- Sauté the Aromatics: Set your Ninja Multi-Cooker to the “Sauté” function. Add a little oil, then sauté the chopped onions and minced garlic for 2-3 minutes until fragrant.
- Pressure Cook the Pork:
-
- Add the chicken broth (or water) and apple cider vinegar to the pot.
- Place the seasoned pork shoulder in the cooker.
- Lock the lid in place, set the Multi-Cooker to “Pressure Cook” on high for 90 minutes.
- Once done, let the pressure release naturally for about 10-15 minutes before carefully opening the lid.
- Shred the Pork: Once the pork is cooked and tender, remove it from the cooker and shred it with two forks. It should fall apart easily.
- Finish with BBQ Sauce: Return the shredded pork to the pot and stir in your BBQ sauce. Let it simmer on the “Sauté” function for an additional 5 minutes to allow the flavours to meld.
- Serve: Serve the pulled pork on buns with extra BBQ sauce, coleslaw, or any toppings of your choice.
Enjoy! It’s a great dish for sandwiches, tacos, or even over rice.
